To celebrate 20 years of Latitude – a festival which has always included theatre, dance, comedy and literature alongside live music – Exeunt has been asked to consider the question of the best British theatre over the last two decades.

Jamie Lloyd just has that rare, brilliant instinct for how to really make theatre reach outside of its usual audience, and just making things that could seem ‘difficult’, be that Pinter or Shakespeare, actually seem crisp and clear and fun.
